   December 28: The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 reached a record level, surpassing the previous highest level reported this summer. Areas including Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Laredo and its surrounding areas have all seen an increase in hospitalizations. At the same time, medical staff have begun to receive COVID-19 vaccination, and older Texans will be next.
