Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Associated Press)-President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club failed to enforce local mask ordinances during the New Year’s Eve spree, which resulted in warnings but no fines or other penalties.
Palm Beach County wrote to club manager Bernd Lembcke on Wednesday, telling him that future violations of the county’s coronavirus regulations could result in fines of up to $15,000 each. Donald Trump Jr. (Donald Trump Jr.)’s online party video shows when rapper Vanilla Ice, Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love and singer Taylor When Taylor Dayne performed, few of the 500 guests wore masks because they crowded the dance floor.
The county’s assistant chief executive, Todd Bonlarron, said in the letter that although the club may have distributed masks to guests, “the order in which masks are implemented has malfunctioned and almost all guests have no masks.” He wrote that he was encouraged by Renbeck's commitment to the club to comply with the regulations.
He wrote: "During our visit, your recognition and commitment to enforcing these laws was obvious." Palm Beach County was severely hit by the virus, reporting 90,000 cases and nearly 2,000 deaths. Its population is 1.5 million.

The new guidance appears to blend earlier advice. Last week, the C.D.C. recommended that even healthy Americans wear masks in public after data showed as many as 25 percent of people infected with the virus were asymptomatic, at the urging of the White House, businesses, workers and others to kick-start the idled economy.

Cuomo didn't say when those indoor activities could reopen in the city. On Wednesday, 14 New Yorkers died from the coronavirus, Cuomo said. Hospitalizations dropped by 18 to 813 in the state. The positivity rate was about 1 percent—769 of the 72,685 COVID-19 tests came back positive. |

The report, which studied 544 specimens collected by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene collected in March, found that 6.6% of specimens tested positive for Covid-19.
